How to use monitor/record icons in GarageBand iOS (iPhone/iPad)

If you are new to multi-track recording in GarageBand iPad or GarageBand iPhone, then you are probably wondering what the record and monitor buttons are in GarageBand and how to use these.

When you connect a multi-channel interface to GarageBand, there are two new icons added to your mixer, right next to the mute, solo and volume icons, which allow you to determine which tracks are "armed" to record, and which tracks will be played back in your monitor mix (through your headphones while you record).

In this video, I show you how these functions work and give you a bonus tip about using this to view your track view while recording vocals, which can be very handy.
