Raab mislead the viewing public on this. ESA and PIP are separate and unrelated.

This cut is a £30 per week cut enforced on people on ESA - enforced only on vulnerable people who are disabled and/or seriously ill.

They have targeted this cut at sick and disabled people.

This cut in ESA will have no impact on what they get from PIP. This not a transfer of any kind. This is a straight cut, aimed at disabled and very ill people.

PIP is a non-taxable benefit that is not means tested. You get PIP whether you are reliant upon social security or working. You could be on 0 per year - you would still get the same amount of PIP - it would not go up.

Raab was either lying or does not understand what his party and government are doing.

Whether Raab is simply an idiot who does not know the facts, or whether he was lying, he should not have said this and the BBC are wrong for allowing this misleading of the viewing public to happen.

This is the the first time Conservative MPs have 'got their facts wrong' welfare benefits for disabled people and welfare benefits in general.
