The Official Cash Rate, or OCR, is the most important interest rate in New Zealand. It is the rate set by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) that drives all interest rates in the market. It serves as an interest rate floor and many borrowers have their interest rates pegged to the OCR. In this video I cover a few key reasons why I think we'll see interest rates cut sooner than expected, and by the end of 2024.
