This collection begins by introducing the basics of World Order, understanding the Bi-Polar World Order, Uni and Multi-Polar World Order and the Global emerging World Order. After this, we are educated on the 3 Power Blocs (US alliance, China-Russia Axis, Emerging Economies) in the current World Order and India’s position in the Global Power Equation. The next few lessons deal with the introduction to Foreign policy, Nehru's Dilemma Post Independence and Key Features of Non-Alignment as a Tool of Indian Foreign Policy. Further, it explores other features of Indian Foreign Policy such as the relationship with United Nation and the Commonwealth of nations. As the collection continues it deals with understanding the factors leading to Tilt in India’s Non-Aligned posture, Nehru’s China policy- “Doctrine of defence by Friendship”, Panchsheel and then goes on to Critically Analyse the Benefits and Drawbacks of Nehru’s Foreign Policy. Then we have the principles which guide any countries Foreign Policy- Geography, Military Strength, Security- external, human, food and energy, Diaspora, National Philosophy etc. Further, it discusses changes in Foreign Policy with the 2014 elections. It also compiles the various initiates taken by the present Government in pursuing a Proactive Foreign Policy. The next part of the collection overviews the dimensions of India-Nepal Relations - the uniqueness of our relations, the current state of relations. The next few lessons deal with the introduction on India-Bangladesh relations. It goes on to discuss the power structures in Bangladesh and its impact on India-Bangladesh relations. Finally, the collection helps us try and understand the nuances of the Teesta water sharing proposed agreement. It starts with the analysis of the present situation- Ganga water sharing agreement- 1996 and then assess the 1983 ad-hoc Teesta water sharing agreement also providing a contextual frame for the proposed interim agreement.
