Every year, PMI unveils the influential projects that changed the way we work, live, and play. Far from it's origins as an English village pastime, cricket is now estimated to be the second most watched sport in the world. And with it's great love for the sport, it's fitting that India is now home to the largest cricket stadium in the world, the Sardar Patel Stadium in Gujarat, commonly known as Motera Stadium. When plans for renovating the 25-year-old stadium were proposed, Prime Minister Narendra Modi opted to rebuild the ground completely, bringing a wealth of new jobs and economic opportunities to the area. India's love for cricket is now matched with a world-class stadium, and although restrictions on gatherings have meant the stadium is yet to host the competitive cricket it was designed for, the view will be magnificent when it does.
