"Inference with and within a model" by Manuel Baltieri (Araya Inc.) (30th CHAIN seminar)

This is a recording of the 30th CHAIN Seminar by the Centre for Human Nature, Artificial Intelligence and Neuroscience (CHAIN), Hokkaido University, held on Friday 17 February 2023.
The 30th CHAIN seminar was given by Manuel Baltieri, a researcher at Araya Inc. Dr Baltieri spoke about his recent paper, "The Emperor's New Markov Blankets" (Bruineberg et al., 2021), which gave a critical discussion of the attempt to connect the free energy principle and autopoiesis theory using the concept of Bayesian inference (Friston 2013).

第30回のCHAINセミナーは、 株式会社アラヤの研究員であるManuel Baltieri氏に講演していただきました。Baltieri氏には、ベイズ推論の概念を用いて、自由エネルギー原理とオートポイエーシス論を繋げようとする試み (Friston 2013)を批判的に論じた論文「The Emperor’s New Markov Blankets (Bruineberg et al., 2021)」についてお話いただきました。
