This realistic simulation scenario places you at the centre of an emergency response to a patient presenting with an Upper Gastrointestinal (GI) Bleed. Participants must rapidly assess and stabilise a patient with signs of hypovolaemia and active bleeding, working as a team to coordinate urgent investigations and interventions.

🔍 Learning Objectives:

Recognise signs of an upper GI bleed (e.g. haematemesis, melaena, hypotension)

Perform a structured A–E assessment and initiate resuscitation

Prioritise airway protection and fluid/blood resuscitation

Order and interpret key investigations (FBC, U&Es, Coagulation, Group & Save/Crossmatch)

Engage in early communication with gastroenterology and critical care

Practise effective teamwork, escalation, and SBAR handover
