D.O Misiani of Shirati Jazz Band, mourns the assassinated late Kenyan Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. John Robert Ouko.

Murdered and body dumped at Got. Alila in Koru, Dr. Ouko's death was one of the cruellest, most painful and undeserving in Kenya's History.

Owino Misiani does not mince his words. He uses the song the chronicle the injustice of Ouko's death and soulfully chides the killers telling them that they could have been kinder to the Minister and just shoot him like Mboya, we would have found his face.

Misiani, a bold social commentator who riled Kenyatta, Moi and Kibaki regimes hailed from Shirati, Kabwana in Tanzania. His music career in Kenya span over 5 decades, a period in which he revolutionized the Bengal Genre and wrote his name on the walls of fame.

D.O, will be remembered as a social justice crusader and champion of thr voiceless in society. Dr. Ouko, of whom he sings, came from the politically radical River Lake Nilotes from the Kavirondo Gulf.
