It’s with great honor and distinction that the Community College of Baltimore County, CCBC School of Health Professions Admissions Office in partnership with Black Meta Agency , Gleechi Technology , & New York University - College of Dentistry sponsored by DELTA DENTAL COMMUNITY CARE FOUNDATION has launched the first “Dental Hygiene Virtual Reality Lab” at a community college on December 4, 2025 in School of Health Sciences, Dental Arts.

Historically, advanced technology resources were exclusive to 4-year institutions, training dentists. Today, we have changed that to launch two new dental hygienist VR training simulations with our partners GLEECHI ‪@VirtualGraspTechnologies‬ led by Jakob Way Peter Ebbe Sundberg in Stockholm, Sweden & New York University - College of Dentistry Education Tech Director Cristian Opazo & VR Developer for NYU, Uttam Grandhi .

We believe all students, whether in high school, community college, or 4-year institution, should have access to state of the art training & technology resources to enhance their workforce development experience.

We are grateful to Tina Greenawalt, CRIS, CISR of the Delta Dental Ins. ( DELTA DENTAL COMMUNITY CARE FOUNDATION ) for the grant to seed this project and look forward to expanding the program even further.

We would like to thank Brionna Burris, MPA, RDH , Dental Hygienist Program at CCBC for igniting this effort with her passion to expand into the emerging technology industry and collaborating with Black Meta Agency. She is the first in the nation to deplay a dental hygienist VR Lab at a community college. This is in concert with Gov. Wes Moore mission to make Maryland a leader in technology & STEM workforce development.
