GOUT Under the Microscope: Brilliant Polarizable Birefringent Monosodium Urate Crystals

This is a great example of brilliant needle-shaped birefringent urate crystals under polarized light examination from a fresh smear/touch prep from a gouty tophus. Routine H&E section of gout is shown in second half of the video for comparison. Enjoy!
