Pairing the Gabi Master A with our April Brewer | Coffee with April

This week, we're investigating how the Gabi Master A from Glowbeans can improve the quality of brewed coffee when used in combination with our own April Brewing Kit.

We've been experimenting with the Gabi to improve the evenness of our distribution when producing a single cup with the April Brewer. We found that when brewing single cups with one pour in total, we were able to increase the extraction yield of that particular brew quite considerably whilst maintaining every other coffee brewing variable.

An example is as follows:

Ethiopia - Carbonic Macerated Krume from Konga
12g - 200g
94°C Water Temp
0:00 - 0:20 - Pour 200g of water into the Gabi
Total Brew Time: 2:50

When measuring the extraction yield of this brewed coffee against the exact same recipe but poured in pulses using a Stagg EKG, we found that the EY increased from approx 18.45%* up to 20.95%*. There were significant sensory differences to be found in the cup.
