It’s that time of year when grad programs are just starting up again, and I know a lot of you who watch this channel are psychology trainees.

And just like private practice, when I reflect back on my grad school experience that I learned the hard way. In fact, it wasn’t until a while after graduating that I could reflect back and see what I wish I’d known before starting a psychology graduate program.

So I thought I’d share some of those tips that I learned the hard way so that those of you just entering psych grad school or who are just gearing up to start your training as a therapist can glean from these learnings.
