We DESTROYED the Big Boring Bar (And It's a NIGHTMARE To Repair!)

It's been one a heck of a week in the shop!

We'd just upgraded our big Alpha Colchester 1760 Lathe (HAL) with a brand new shop made cross-slide bar holder, and when we were test fitting the big bar (Godzilla)...

IT GOT STUCK!

And it wouldn't budge. After heat and hammers failed, we used the hydrualic press to sepearate this ungodly union and the damage was significant. Both the cross-slide holder and the KM80 headed "Godzilla" were pretty scored up. In this video we undergo full repair works in order to salvage them both.

It's a warzone in the shop. Enjoy.

We're a real life machine shop for a 60 year old drilling company located in Central Qld, Australia.
