The arena goes black after Markus retains his title in a brutal steel cage match. A cryptic video plays — flickering images of clocks, crows, graveyards, and an unrecognizable masked man whispering “Time ends for gods too.”



Shawn Spears debuts the following week, repackaged with a ruthless “Timekiller” persona. He claims he’s not here to win — he's here to end legacies. He mocks Markus as a "cosplay goth gimmick" who's held the title too long.

Markus responds with silence, only appearing in haunting promos filmed in graveyards, cryptically referencing Spears as “a soul not yet buried.”

ACT 2: Burden of Souls (Survivor Series Build)

Spears begins a brutal path of destruction, defeating legends from the era (Mankind, Goldust, Vader) and attacking Markus’ followers (dark druids, creepy valets, or tag allies).

At Survivor Series, Spears and Markus lead opposing teams. After a blood-soaked elimination war, Spears pins the last man — only for the lights to go out and Markus to choke him out post-match, staring into the camera with glowing white eyes.

ACT 3: The Clock Strikes Midnight (Royal Rumble)

Markus retains his title against Kane in an inferno match. Spears wins the Royal Rumble as entrant #1, lasting an hour.

The night ends with Spears standing on the ramp staring at Markus in the ring — both framed by flames.

ACT 4: Death’s Last Dance (WrestleMania)

“The soul that hunts death… will be hunted by death.” – tagline



Weeks of violent mind games: graveyard brawls, Spears burning a symbolic coffin with Markus’ cloak, Markus dragging Spears through a foggy swamp in a pre-recorded cinematic promo.

WRESTLEMANIA MAIN EVENT:
WWE Championship – “Last Soul Standing” Match (Iron Man + No DQ Hybrid)
60 minutes. No pinfalls. Each fall adds a soul to your total. Only the one with more “souls” at the end leaves as champion.

The match is vicious, featuring weapons, tombstone piledrivers through tables, and demonic visuals. At 59:59, Spears hits his finisher — but Markus rises one last time and tombstones him on steel steps. Final count: Markus: 6 souls / Spears: 5.
