05.Honda V4

With the V4 architecture being the flavor of choices, manufacturers are pumping in all their resources to develop a new segment of sports bikes. After the Aprilia RSV4s’ and the latest Ducati V4s’, it looks like it’s going to be Honda’s next move for a new checkmate to be showcased at the 2018 EICMA.
It won’t be a VFR1200 copy, nor a watered-down RC213V-S but will create a whole new platform for the Japanese manufacturer. We can see new plans of Honda that might radically rejuvenate the mighty V4s’ that made debut with the VFR750 in 1995, a bike still termed as the ‘best road bike ever built’.

04. BMW Motorrad
At the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2017, the BMW Group is presenting its vision of zero-emission urban mobility on two wheels: the BMW Motorrad Concept Link. «The BMW Motorrad Concept Link stands for a new understanding of urban mobility. For me the BMW Motorrad Concept Link, with its timeless and reduced style, is more than a concept, it is rather a symbol for a new era», explains Edgar Heinrich, Head of Design of BMW Motorrad. The technical realities of electric drives, such as the flat energy packs in the underfloor and the compact drive on the rear wheel, allowed us to create a highly distinctive design that shapes a new segment. The resulting expressive power of the vehicle is absolutely new for BMW Motorrad and breaks with all conventional viewing patterns», explains Alexander Buckman, Head of Vehicle Design at BMW Motorrad. Taking a closer look, clear lines, large-area surfaces and simple, precise shapes emphasize the state-of-the-art look of this concept.

03. Kawasaki J
The once clear delineation between the car and motorcycle has become somewhat muddied in recent times with the emergence of an array of narrow tracked vehicle designs sporting two, three, and four wheels. Kawasaki threw another fascinating oddity into the ring at the Tokyo Motor Show today with the unveiling of the outlandish, shape-shifting "J" 3-wheel electric vehicle concept. Looking something like a Tron Lightcycle in Kawasaki Lime Green livery, the J is able to morph between a low-slung riding position (Sport Mode) that allows the rider to carve through corners at speed and a higher stance (Comfort Mode) in which the distance between the front wheels is widened for more relaxed urban cruising. Steering-wise, the J has neither a wheel nor handlebars, instead of employing two levers that seem akin to those found on zero-turn ride-on lawnmowers.

02.Honda Riding Assist
The Honda Riding Assist-e is an experimental motorcycle featuring Honda’s unique balance control technology, developed through its humanoid robot research. The motorcycle automatically balances itself using an assistive mechanism derived from robotics technology, for ultra low-speed situations that require the rider’s attention to balance, such as traffic jams or starting and stopping.
By the motorcycle balancing itself, touring and motorcycle life is made easier, and more fun, without sacrificing the fun of riding. The Riding Assist-e is powered by an electric motor. This model marks a step towards realizing Honda’s 2030 vision of “enjoying the freedom of mobility” and “a carbon-free society.”

01. BMW Motorrad Vision Next 100
BMW used to imagine future vehicles with four or two wheels ten years before. But for its centenary, the brand has a head start again presenting for the first time Motorrad Vision Next 100, a bike designed 30 years before time. BMW tried to imagine was future would be concerning two wheels mobility, and the way to feel true freedom on the road while driving Motorrad Vision Next 100. This high-end machine is a true companion for the pilot that pays homage to the brand’s past vehicles in a futuristic way.
Then Vision Next 100 has the same iconic elements as BMW usual bikes like the black triangular frame, a classical form concerning twin cylinder but with no emission this time. The frame is particularly referring to the first BMW bike: BMW R32 from 1923. But this time, there is no visible articulation even with a “basic” look. The ergonomics have been rethought and the position of the handlebars reminds actual roadsters but with new wind protection that reminds shrouds integral bikes.
