JVC Victor XU-D400 Mk II - MD Combo Deck Dumpster Fire

Today, we'll be looking at a JVC MD-CD combo deck that was only available in the Japanese market, an XU-D400 Mk II. What makes this one different from the Mk I version is MDLP compatibility, and when I saw this thing sitting at $17 in the Yahoo Japan auctions I decided it might make for a good video subject. After winning the auction unopposed, it now sits before me in "mostly dead" condition.

I think it's going to take more than a pill from Miracle Max to save this one, but we'll give it a shot.
