SSS3 Biology: Genetics

Описание к видео SSS3 Biology: Genetics

In this lesson, students will be able to define genetics using Punnett Squares and describe the cause and effect relationship of gene transmission from parent to offspring and the resulting genetic variations.

Lesson summary
Overview
Students will need to keenly follow the lesson to better understand genetics. Students will be using a chart to see if some the traits they might have are either dominant or recessive. Students will also look at a Punnett square to determine the percentages that an offspring will have of obtaining certain trait from their parents. Students will follow the steps and record their observations on their lab sheet..

Objectives
Students will be able to:

Develop and use a model to describe why structural changes to genes (mutations) located on chromosomes may affect proteins and may result in harmful, beneficial, or neutral effects to the structure and function of the organism.
Develop and use a model to describe why asexual reproduction results in offspring with identical genetic information and sexual reproduction results in offspring with genetic variation
