Cracking the 8 Bit Color Code on the Sony A7III

Overtime I have found myself filming in either S-Log2 and S-Log3 on my Sony A7III. As much as I love and understand the color space, I lowkey despise the rules for the overexposing and having to figuring out how to get the cleanest image. This to say, I am not saying that using HLG2 is a cheat code, but it definitely has allowed me to have a much easier time grading without getting frustrated.

There are many videos out there that already explain why HLG2 is fantastic, but to be able to do it myself and get the results of what I truly want is even more exciting.

All these shots were with the 709 color space in PP10, so don't try using any other ones if you are having trouble. I hope this video helps someone out like how other filmmakers helped me. Thank you for watching.
