Valhalla is Ubisoft’s Viking epic – a huge open-world action RPG where you play as Eivor Varinsdottir, a Viking raider from Norway who leaves home with her brother Sigurd to carve out a new life in Anglo-Saxon England. Set around 872–878 AD, the story follows your clan’s journey as they raid, negotiate and scheme their way across kingdoms like Wessex, Mercia, Northumbria and East Anglia, building the settlement of Ravensthorpe while getting dragged deeper and deeper into the hidden war between the proto-Assassins (the Hidden Ones) and the proto-Templars (the Order of the Ancients). Layered on top of that is the modern-day storyline with Layla Hassan, still fighting to keep Earth alive as strange signals and Isu tech pull her back into the Animus and into Eivor’s memories one last time.
In our GAMEFLICKS cut, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is edited to feel like a long, bingeable historical fantasy movie. We follow the main arcs in story order: Eivor’s childhood trauma in Norway, the conflict with Kjotve and King Harald, the exodus to England, the slow build-up of alliances across the map, the clashes with Alfred of Wessex, the Order hunt, the Asgard and Jotunheim vision sequences, the truth about Odin and Loki and the late-game fallout when Basim’s real agenda comes to light. All the key cutscenes are kept intact, and we only drop into gameplay when it really sells the cinematic feel – longship raids with fire on the riverbanks, fortress assaults where Eivor leads a full army over the walls, duels in muddy fields, stealthy city infiltrations in places like London and Jorvik, and those quiet rides through foggy English countryside where the music and world design do all the talking.
Underneath the axes and raids, Valhalla is a story about belonging and belief: Eivor trying to balance loyalty to her clan, faith in her own visions, questions about fate versus free will, and the pull between living as a pure Viking warrior or walking more fully in the Hidden Ones’ shadows. The alliances you forge with English kings and Viking jarls, the choices you make with Sigurd, the way you deal with people like Ivarr, Ceolbert or Fulke – it all feeds into that feeling that you’re shaping not just conquests, but the future of your clan and your own legacy.
If you like throwing on long game movies while you eat, chill, study or grind, this Assassin’s Creed Valhalla cut is made to run like a full Viking TV season in one go: raids, politics, gods, betrayals, and one very stubborn raider trying to earn a place in Valhalla on her own terms. Drop a like if Eivor’s saga hit you in the heart, subscribe to GAMEFLICKS and turn on the bell so you don’t miss the next upload, and tell us in the comments which alliance arc was your favourite, whether you rolled male, female or “let the Animus decide,” and what game you want to see turned into a full movie next. Share this with a friend who loves Vikings, history, or just wants something huge and myth-soaked to watch tonight.
