DIY MFT Build Part 1

Описание к видео DIY MFT Build Part 1

This video is part of a 2 part series that looks at how to build and use a DIY Part Guide alternative and comparing this to a CNC machined Router Template to create 20mm holes in an MFT table. Part 1 Investigates how to use and examines how well the DIY Parf Guide works. Part 2 does the same for the CNC machined Low Cost Router template and then compares the two.

Materials you need to make your own: (Australia)
2 x Steel 1m Rulers - https://www.bunnings.com.au/lufkin-10...
(Also you need to accurately drill 3mm holes into the 2 steel rulers at 96mm centres (11 holes per ruler).
This is not that easy to do with home drill press with great accuracy. After a few attempts I elected to have them drilled at a machining shop with computer controlled milling machines. This gave me precision of better than 0.01mm. Best I could on the home drill press if I was careful was between 0.1-0.3mm, so 10 -30 times worse. Cost was $80 at the local machine shop.

1 x 3mm HSS Drill Bit (or whatever you have however you need to make sure your drill bit matches the holes in the steel ruler.

1 x 20mm Forstner Bit - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/16mm-35mm...

3mm diameter Pins or Blind Rivetts with 3mm dia shaft (Mandrel) - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Stainless...

Additionally, you need to make a Hole boring guide for the Forstner bit.
