Actress Elaine Dunn from Cleveland, Ohio began her career as a dancer at age thirteen. After appearances on The Jackie Gleason Show in 1952 she recorded for Dot Records, toured with Bob Hope for the U.S. troops in 1958 and was featured on Bing Crosby's TV show in 1960. Stage and film spots, as well as an appearance on Pat Boone's 1962 Christmas show kept her busy. By 1963 Elaine had recorded for RCA and then Capitol Records. Coincidentally, her record for Dot in 1957 was "Will O' The Wisp," the title of Leon Russell's 1975 album!
On November 12, 1964 Capitol Records producer David Axelrod had H. B. Barnum as arranger and session leader for four songs. Two of them, "If My Teardrops Could Talk" and "Here Stands A Girl" were paired on Capitol 5342. "Here Stands A Girl" was written by Lee Goehring. Among the sixteen musicians on them were drummer Earl Palmer, bass player James Bond, guitarists Carol Kaye, Rene Hall and Tommy Tedesco, and on piano was Leon Russell. The orchestra included horn player Richard Leith, William Greene, and a few others.
