In your lifetime, you will probably know several people with cancer. It’s the second leading cause of death in the United States and will directly affect one in two men and one in three women. Unfortunately, age is the biggest risk for developing most cancers.

At Sanford Burnham Prebys our researchers are working tirelessly, gaining critically important insights into the biology of aging—and why it puts us at risk of cancer. Working collaboratively with clinicians from UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center, our researchers take a unique approach to discovering the next cancer treatments by using patient data to inform their research.
