We knew we were in for a good time when we showed up at an empty cocktail bar and Zachary Patterson said, “I’m so excited to be back behind the bar...let’s just have some fun!” Lono Hollywood was the perfect setting for this cross between a Lagerita and a Cantarito with El Tequileno Tequila. 🌵 This is a summer crusher and it will be really easy to replicate at home (drink recipe below) so grab a bottle of El Tequileno Tequila and see if you can match Zach’s free pour skills when you make your at-home version! 👍

Zach has every reason to take himself seriously but as you can see from the video he just wanted to inject some fun into something that many take WAAAY too seriously! The fact that his bar Lono Hollywood has been closed during the pandemic (which is why we were able to have Zach jumping on and off the bar) could easily be a reason for him to be down but instead he wanted to share some positivity and remind us to have fun the next time we make a cocktail...we hope that is exactly what you do this weekend! 🙏 Even though Lono Hollywood is temporarily closed they are offering their To-Go tiki cocktails through their other bar Melrose Umbrella Co. - check them out! 💯

“South of the Border Shandy”
1.5 oz El Tequileno Blanco Tequila - Let’s be honest…Zach put a little more than that in his version…feel free to adjust to taste! 😂
.5 oz fresh orange juice
.5 oz fresh grapefruit juice
.5 oz lime juice
.25 oz orange liqueur (Pierre Ferrand dry curacao)
.25 oz light agave syrup
2 dash orange bitters
4 oz mexican lager (Modelo)

Add all ingredients except Modelo together. Give a quick soft/short shake. Add the beer. Dump all into rocks glass with Tajin half rim. Express grapefruit peel over the top of the drink and place inside. Smile, Drink up and Enjoy!
