How to make shape super soft KAISER Rolls

Описание к видео How to make shape super soft KAISER Rolls

The Kaiser roll is believed to have originated in Vienna, Austria, during the 18th century. Its name, "Kaiser," means "emperor" in German, and it was named to honor Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria. The roll was designed to be an elegant bread roll suitable for royalty and nobility.
The distinctive feature of the Kaiser roll is its unique star-shaped pattern on the top. Traditionally, this pattern was achieved by hand, either by cutting the dough with a sharp blade or by using a specialized stamp. The five-point star design is not just decorative but also serves to create a roll with a pleasing texture and crust.
As with many culinary traditions, the Kaiser roll spread beyond Austria to other parts of Europe and eventually to the United States. German and Austrian immigrants brought the recipe to America, where it became popular in cities with significant immigrant populations, such as New York City.
Today, Kaiser rolls are a staple in bakeries and delis around the world. They are prized for their slightly crisp crust and soft, airy interior. In the United States, they are often used for sandwiches, including the classic deli-style sandwich and various breakfast sandwiches.
While the traditional Kaiser roll is plain, modern variations include toppings such as poppy seeds, sesame seeds, or even onion flakes. Some versions are made with whole wheat flour or other grains for a different texture and flavour.
The Kaiser roll holds a special place in culinary history and remains a symbol of quality and tradition in baking. Its enduring popularity is a testament to its versatile nature and the skill of the bakers who have perfected its creation over centuries.

In summary, the Kaiser roll's history is a journey from the bakeries of 18th-century Vienna to the global stage, where it continues to be enjoyed for its unique texture, flavor, and versatility.
