On October 27th, 2021, I caught an INSANE lashup on a northbound freight train!

I got word from some local foamer friends that a northbound train on the emerson subdivision would have 6 engines, including a heritage unit and 4 UP engines! I raced down to a pedestrian crossing at Mile 5, where I met up with Evan 'Manitoba Rail Productions' and Taylor 'The Cando Railfan'. We waited around, saw some Mice and Deer along the tracks and finally it showed up! This train is CP 299, a daily mixed freight from the Twin Cities in MN to Sutherland Yard in Saskatoon, SK).

The train had a pretty new AC44CWM leading, 8172 (Ex-CP 9654) that had a pretty loud K5HL horn on it. Now this is where it gets cool. Trailing was CP SD70ACu 7022, their 'Shipside Grey' Royal Canadian Navy heritage unit! After that unit was a series of 4 Ex-UP SD90MACs! Units 3663, 3672, 3670 and 3774.

The train passed and Taylor and Evan headed home. I decided to chase it up to Winnipeg yard, because I'm a big time FOAMER! I made it up, and saw some trains moving but no sign of 299. I even saw CP 4404, the Dual Flags GP38 pulling local PG26 from the IMS terminal.

I then saw the train sitting under the Arlington overpass and moved over there to get some close up shots of the power. That's the closest I've ever been to an SD70ACu and an SD90MAC. They're just beautiful, lmao

The train then took off towards McPhillips where I caught it switching some cars. right as it was pulling up, CP 4421 and SOO 4412 were pushing a single hopper into the yard! 299 came past and stopped on the bridge. 7022-8172 then pushed some of the train, including the 4 Big Mac's into a yard track and left to head back to the rest of the train.
