Baby Rosalina in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Race Condition: “Mini-Turbo” | Baby Rosalina Month (2024)

Описание к видео Baby Rosalina in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Race Condition: “Mini-Turbo” | Baby Rosalina Month (2024)

An offline VS Race gameplay session, played as Baby Rosalina - while racing with additional “challenge” restrictions. She is driving in the Pipe Frame vehicle, with Sponge wheels and the Super Glider.

During each course, Baby Rosalina is driving under a specific racing condition. In this video, the racing condition is titled, “Mini-Turbo.”
This is one of 15 conditions that Dani had created for offline VS Race sessions, like this one; more information can be seen further below. For the “Mini-Turbo” condition, only Mini-Turbo boosts could be used while drifting - not Super Mini-Turbos nor Ultra Mini-Turbos.
After drifting for some time, a blue spark may appear (followed by blue flames). Continuing to drift may create an orange spark, and then a purple spark. The blue flames after the spark signify that a standard Mini-Turbo boost can be used - this condition prevents the use of boosts from orange or purple flames (for Super Mini-Turbos and Ultra Mini-Turbos respectively).

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Offline, Race Condition)
Game Mode: Single-Player, VS Race
Character: Baby Rosalina
Vehicle Combination: Pipe Frame, Sponge, Super Glider
Engine Size: 150cc
Number of Races: 4
Race Condition: “Mini-Turbo”
Notes: Since these conditions were created as an offline alternative for the “13,530 project,” the vehicle combination used in this video was selected using randomly generated numbers (generated via www.random.org). This process was also used to select between the 15 conditions.
The document containing these conditions did not define a Mini-Turbo, so it was presumed that a Mini-Turbo was classified by the boost received after releasing the drift button. Although Mini-Turbos are created by drifting, the game does not count a Mini-Turbo for a user’s “Play Stats” until the boost has been received from it. In other words, the game does not add Mini-Turbos to the Play Stats before releasing the drift button (even if you can see the coloured flames).
Based on this, a player can prevent a Super or Ultra Mini-Turbo from boosting a player if they slow down to stop drifting, for example.
Additionally, players could still boost from the standard Mini-Turbos created without the drift button.

A scoring or ranking system was also proposed to assess a player’s overall performance, instead of considering the race condition as “failed” for one Super or Ultra Mini-Turbo boost. However, the system had not been developed before this play session, so it was dismissed for this video. Instead, a time-penalty was given to Baby Rosalina; this decision was spontaneous, but the penalty was intended to last 10 seconds.
The ranking concept would work similarly to the ranking system proposed for this channel’s Project 4; an example of this system can be seen here (each time Rosalina uses a Kick-Bomb in the linked video):    • Super Mario 3D World (Rosalina) | Wor...

Additional sounds and soundtrack were used in this video. They were from Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Mario Kart Wii respectively - sourced either from a video recording by Dani, The Sounds Resource, or KHInsider.

Baby Rosalina’s first appearance in a video game was in Mario Kart 8, for the Nintendo Wii U. In Japan, this game was released on the 29th of May 2014, and it was released in Europe on the 30th of May 2014. Baby Rosalina Month is a concept that was created to celebrate Baby Rosalina’s existence, throughout the month of May. This video references the number of days remaining until the 30th of May 2024. The text for “Baby Rosalina Month 2024” uses a fanmade font named “Delfino.”
