(Where are the Dalits?) campaign is a bold and ongoing movement demanding justice, visibility, and constitutional rights for the Dalit community in Nepal. Through symbolic protests, hunger strikes, and nationwide demonstrations, Sunar has brought attention to systemic caste-based discrimination and the political neglect of Dalit voices.

The campaign began with a striking protest at Maitighar Mandala, where Sunar stood in shackles, symbolizing centuries of Dalit oppression. Since then, the movement has expanded with a series of protests targeting major government institutions such as the Election Commission, Singha Durbar, and the President’s residence. The central demand remains clear: real, proportional, and meaningful representation of Dalits in Nepal’s political and administrative systems.

Sunar has also openly criticized Dalit leaders within political parties for neglecting their responsibility to uplift their own community. The movement further supports the rights of inter-caste couples like Satyendra Ram and Neha Rauniyar, highlighting their struggle for justice in a discriminatory system, despite legal victories.

In 2025, the campaign announced a National Roundtable Conference on Dalit Rights to offer a new ideological roadmap for the liberation and empowerment of Dalits across Nepal.
