JRodriguezSierra fundamental flute tone production tips and suggestions

This is my first of a series that I hope to be sharing .
These are some flute suggestions and tips from my professional experience in the studio and on the stage as a session player and soloist in varied genres.
I hope this may help flute players of all levels from beginners to pros.
I learn as much as you do from these posts so please feel free to share and ask questions.
Keep in mind that everyones lips and physique are different so these suggestions may all be somewhat varied.
I .The most important thing is to make sure that your lips and jaw are relaxed and flexible so you can adapt to the different flute registers and dynamic changes. Your sound and tone will derive from there.
II. Deep open breaths from your diaphragm are needed as your throat expands to allow the maximum amount of control of your air pressure and stream .
We don't really push air out from our lungs and or diaphragm.
We allow it to flow out of our lungs in a relaxed natural way.
III. Make sure your instrument is in working order.
IV. Do it consistently and you will see improvements
V. Have fun and practice with intent and passion .

Professional flutist who solely play flute/ piccolo in the classical world more than likely already practice this way.
If they don't it was mastered a long time ago.

These are tips and suggestions for many who may not have had the time or opportunity to focus solely on flute.
As a doubler I have been studying and playing flute since I was 10.
I had the honor of focusing on flute for many years and still do with various masters
Master - ( anyone that does something inspiring and has spent countless hours on an aspect of playing that I have not )

I do this because I fell in love with this instrument as much as all my other woodwinds. It is a journey and not a destination .
