The transition to cleaner energy is accelerating, but its benefits remain out of reach for many Latine communities. Despite being disproportionately impacted by climate change and high energy burdens, Latine households face systemic barriers to accessing clean energy incentives, solar programs, and workforce opportunities. The median energy burden for Latine households is 24% higher than that for White households, driven by lower incomes, older housing stock, and limited access to energy-saving technologies. Existing clean energy policies, such as federal tax credits and rebates, often favor higher-income, home-owning populations, leaving renters and low-income families behind.

With federal clean energy investments at a crossroads, policy experts will examine the clean energy gap and discuss community-owned clean energy projects, Community Benefits Agreements (CBAs), and expanding workforce development as key strategies to lower energy burdens, improve affordability, and foster economic resilience through equitable clean energy initiatives.
