Post Graduate Diploma in Knitwear Industry Management (PGD-KIM) at BIGD, BRAC University

Various reports have found that there are serious skill gaps at higher levels of employment in the RMG sector of Bangladesh, especially in the roles of supervisors, mid and high level managers, trainers and entrepreneurs. Moreover, there are approximately 200,000 foreigners currently working in Bangladesh at mid and higher level managerial positions – remitting annually US$ 5 billion.
In order to address skill gaps and produce a pool of high-quality local manager who can meet the existing and future labour market needs and can gradually break the glass ceiling for progressing further in their careers, the SEIP project has established the EDC at BIGD, Brac University for the knitwear subsector with the aim of creating a pool of world class managers who could meet the demands of knitwear industries for mid and high level executives, reducing dependence on foreign managers by facilitating industry-academia collaboration.
