芥川高校和太鼓部「親子獅子(The lion dance）」Akutagawa H S Taiko Club (Aug 28 2020)

例年なら、9月は地域や老人ホームの敬老会で6～7回の演奏会が入っていましたが、今年は敬老会の演奏は新型コロナの為、0回です。 In previous years, we would have had 6 or 7 concerts in September for the community and old people's homes , but this year we have no performances for the celebration of longevity because of the Covid-19.
それで、和太鼓部では例年お世話になっていた老人ホームに敬老の日のお祝いとして、DVDを届けて、お年寄りに部屋で見てもらえるようにしました。
その中に入れる演目としてこの獅子舞があります。獅子舞は男性が多いのですが、あえて女子のみの演目としました。So, as a celebration of Respect-for-the-Elderly Day, the taiko club has delivered a DVD to the old people's homes that have taken care of us in the past, so that they may watch it in their rooms. One of the performances that has been included in the DVD is this lion dance. Mostly the lion dance is performed by men, but we chose to include only women in the performance.
