The US Army's Sapper Leader Course is a strenuous 28-day leadership development course for soldiers — especially combat engineers — that evaluates their ability to apply advanced techniques like troop leading procedures, demolitions, waterborne operations, and mountaineering operations while leading troops in combat scenarios. Those that successfully complete the course are awarded the coveted Sapper tab.
