📝NOTES:
This demonstration is for scientific curiosity, but I don't really recommend this approach, because it makes Workflow far more complicated than it needs to be, as combining Armature Modifier (Skinning method) with Shape Keys is already complicated by default...! Of course, the main reason I was having THIS particular Shape Keys Modelling requirement, was because I was having (for a Face Rig...!) the Rest Position different than the Rest Pose, in what concerns the Mesh Geometry; however, most commonly this kind of spontaneous displacement effect/condition in a Rigged Model, would happen in certain cases of Inverse Kinematics (e.g., IK Bone Constraint, Spline IK Bone Constraint) for example; but in my case, I was making a Rig which did exactly that spontaneous displacement, and that made Rigging life much, much harder, notably when it came to the Shape Keys making process. This is when I've verified that, at least in the case of the Armature Modifier, we can actually Model/Sculpt the Shape Keys, on top of Enabled On Cage & Edit Mode Options. Curiously, not every single Object Modifier in Blender affects the Shape Keys Modelling/Sculpting process correctly (e.g., Shrinkwrap Modifier DOESN'T WORK that way!); though it is clear in the case of the Armature Modifier, this is a valid approach, though super-hard; it is actually hard enough, I think, just having overlapping Shape Keys themselves! Now, imagine, if the source of overlapping, is comming from different features, outside of the Shape Keys Panel (and this is what was going on here!).😹 Because I wanted Shape Keys for the final Rigged Model, I've just ended up taking off that unnecessary Mouth Setup which was responsible for the spontaneous displacement of the Mesh Geoemtry between its Rest Position and its Rest Pose; that made Workflow much, much better to handle. Mouth Rigging is often super-complicated, so it's better to not be stacking whichever feature there, if we do not really need to! That was my conclusion; I am glad I could go through this whole process, learn and share something like this, showing how difficult (and weird) Shape Keys can be!
