This is what happens when you don’t take responsibility

I was watching a crime show the other day, and there was this criminal talking about the charges the police had against him. And it was the phrase he used to describe his crimes that got my attention.

You see, he’d robbed a liquor store and held the clerk at gunpoint.

But instead of just saying that or accepting any responsibility for his actions, he said that he “Caught a case.”

Like, he just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Kinda like something you’d say if you got a flat tire.

“Oh, I picked up a nail.”

No…This guy committed a crime.

But, in his mind, he was the victim. Cause he got caught.

Now you might hear this story and think, wow, what a moron?

But I’ll hazard to guess that you’ve engaged in that same type of thinking from time to time.

Like, when your phone doesn’t ring. Or you feel stuck working for scraps the motor clubs provide.

Of course, the reality is you’re where you are as a result of the decisions you’ve made up to that point.

No, your actions didn’t get you thrown in jail.

But if you continually engage in victim thinking, you’re no better off.

You’re in a jail of your own thinking.
The truth is, you don’t catch bad business—you get there with passive choices and excuses. But you can build something better.
Marketing isn’t a magic bullet, but it is the key that opens the door to freedom. When you stop waiting for calls from the clubs and start actively going after customers who need you, everything changes. The money gets better. Your headaches diminish. And you gain control of your life.
