With time The Holy City expanded towards the temple causing congestion all around . Doing a peaceful Parikrama
became impossible. Pilgrim experience needed to be enhanced
and all-around security bolstered.

The Naveen Patnaik Govt decided to implement
the Sree Mandira Parikrama Project . .The proposal was unanimously
passed by the State Assembly.
In due course, all other clearances were received and the project got kickstarted. The project was guided by Puri Gajapati Maharaj. Rapid growth of the town had left only a street of 10-12 feet
available for pilgrims and commuters. So it was decided to clear the
constructions within 75 Meters all around the periphery constructions cleared and mathas revived.

The foundation stone for the
Parikrama Marg was laid on 24th November 2021, Construction
started in full swing.Today on 17th January 2024, with the blessings of Shri Jagannath Mahaprabhu it was inaugurated. Our deepest gratitude to Shri Naveen Patnaik Honourable CM of Odisha for his visionary Initiation
