Rope - hanging Oyster Cultivation

Rope - hanging cultivation is a common method for oyster farming, which is suitable for oysters that use shells as attachment substrates. There are two main operation methods :

String together the shells with oyster larvae attached using ropes, separate them with bamboo tubes about 10 centimeters apart in the middle, and suspend them for cultivation on a raft.

Clip the shells with oyster larvae attached into the twists of a polyethylene rope with a diameter of 3 - 3.5 centimeters. Clip one shell every 10 centimeters or so, and hang them vertically on a floating raft. Generally, each rope is 2 - 3 meters long. Oyster larvae can also be cultivated by clamping them with rubber tires.

The advantages of this cultivation method are that it can make full use of water space. Oysters can better absorb nutrients such as plankton in seawater. At the same time, oysters are affected more evenly by environmental factors such as water flow and light, which is conducive to their growth and development. The oysters cultivated in this way have good quality and relatively high yields.
