سلام . سوهان یک ابزار تقریبا سه هزار ساله است که در هزاره ی اخیر به شکل کنونی درآمده است . این ابزار جهت صیقل اجسام و بار بداری از سطح و داخل آنها یا تیز کردن ابزار دیگر استفاده می شود . عموما برای تغییر در چوبها و فلزات کاربر دارد گرچه برای سنگ و پلاستیک و چیزهای دیگر هم استفاده می شود . جنس تیغه برای کاربردهای معمول فولاد و برای سایش اجسام سخت از سوهان های الماسه یا سلنیم کاربید یا تنگستن استفاده می شود . سوهان های زرگری کوچکتر و ریز آج ترند و سوهان هخای چوب یا پلاستیک عموما درشت دندانه و خشن ترند . شاخص نرمی یا خشنی یک سوهان با تعداد عاج در یک سانتیمتر مربع مشخص می شود و اعداد متفاوتی مثل 12 را دارد . سوهان ها با آج ضربدری یا دو جهته بیشتر برای اجسام سخت تر و بار برداری استفاده می شوند در حالی که نوع تک آج بیشتر برای پرداخت و اجسام نرم است . دسته ها عموما از چوب و پلاستیک می باشد که چوبیها با دست آشناتر و برای کارکرد طولانی آسیب کمتری را به دست کاربر وارد می کنند ولی معمولا به خوش فرمی پلاستیکیها نیستند . طول سوهان ها هم بنا به کاربرد متفاوت و برحسب اینچ مشخص می شود . در این ابزار شکل تیغه هم بنابر کاربرد بسیار متفاوت است و در حرفه های مختلف از آن استفاده می شود عموما ابزار کمکی گیره هم برای گرفتن قطعه حین سوهان کاری استفاده می شود که جهت سلامت کاربر بهتر است ارتفاع آن درست تنظیم گردد . سوهان ها ممکن است در حین استفاده کند گردند که عموما به این دلیل است که براده ها در بین عاج ها گیر کرده و بهتر است با برس سیمی تمیز یا در صورتیکه چیزی به آن چسبیده با آب شسته و خشک گردد یا با گازوئیل یا نفت تمیز شوند .
