The Revit built-in batt insulation tool has some serious issues. It cannot be tagged or scheduled. There is always a small gap at the top of the element. It cannot be used inside families.

The solution is to build a custom detail item family. By combining a nested single batt family with arrays and formulas, you get a parametric, schedulable insulation batt family that makes detailing easier.
