Sorry about me vanishing for a bit was quite burnt out after grinding out the best of 2025 video but now starting to get the motivation back to doing this. Will still hopefully get around to uploading the remaining showcases I have from that video.

Split72 has always been a creator on my radar for their simple gameplay and visual style that is held up by incredibly strong colours that separate them from other creators. Since 2.2's release, Split has been going ham on frum's songs and surprisingly the visual style of Split marries incredibly smoothly with the harsh style of Frums music and this level is no different.

From I gathered, Generate Me A Level is a 1 day project that uses incredibly unorthodox gameplay to emulate an AI generating a level. While I do like this concept and I think the actual execution of the gameplay direction is high, I feel the gameplay direction doesn't really emulate what an AI generated level could look like. What I mean by this is that if there was an AI trained on all Geometry Dash levels to exist, I think it would generate something closer to the two extreme ends of gameplay "quality" being portal spam nonsense and "perfect" flow gameplay (that is lowkey also nonsense but that's a conversation for another day). I think the direction I'd take with a level like this is aim for that more perfect style but then implement the oddities that generative AI still includes in its image generation. I think this approach would work well with the song as trying to make the song work in a flowy gameplay style would inherently make the level feel incredibly awkward to watch.

Visually I think this level is also quite good, you could argue that a "generated" level looking like a level made by Split72 plays with the fact that they have the most creator points in the game and even then release way more unrated levels which is quite funny. I think if I wanted to play with the AI aspect of this level a little more I'd be looking at making the framing of the level appear slightly off center to further give off that uncanny feeling that AI images have. This is done in some points in the level intentional or not such as 0:34 and 0:44 but I would've liked to see it be more prominent in the level.

Overall this is still a really solid level from Split, the gameplay felt quite enjoyable from the few practice runs I did despite it being quite unorthodox and I think everything present in the level has been executed decently. I think most of my qualms with this level come from how I believe this concept could've been explored a little deeper, but this may be too much to ask for a 1 day project. I can see this level getting featured.
