Restoring A $7,000 Mansion: Finishing The Basement Rebuild (Pt. 2)

My 1917 mansion's basement needed a complete rebuild. In an attempt to make the basement safer, stronger, and livable, over the past several months we have been rebuilding virtually everything and we are now on the final step, which is to install giant steel I-beams that will support most of the house. Today we are installing the first I-beam. Once we get all the I-beams installed, we will be able to rip down the basement dividing walls and remove the center posts, which will turn the what-used-to-be 5-room basement into 3!
