Update: Sudowrite is the best AI for Fiction.

I also made my own AI writing tool, to get more creative and unique writing:

Can you write a whole book with AI? I played around with the new gpt3 chatbot and open AI... and it's scary good. Yes, there are complex and controversial issues with AI software, but at a base level, I see it as a big improvement over editing software, and also as a tool for research and brainstorming.
Here's a review of the best AI writing tools I've tested:
https://www.creativindie.com/best-ai-...
But... it CAN write a full 24 chapter outline. And it can write very strong scenes; and it's great at hooks and first paragraphs. And - chatbotGPT3 can remember all the information in a thread so it could make a coherent, consistent long-form content like a novel or a book. I'll test more soon, but I think we're a few months away from this being a real thing.
UPDATE1: I tried it out and got stuck on around chapter 4, after generating a lot of good content it started respinning ominous warnings repetitively. So not quite there yet. But it will be, within a few months I think. I'm excited by some writing tool AI features, like expand, rewrite in a different style, edit and proofread (I'll bet this is coming and will replace grammarly); but also for descriptions - once it can remember a whole text and continue, without limits, you could put in a first book and keep it writing in your style.
UPDATE2: I made this video but was a little cavalier in my testing. I used "in the style of (famous author)" as an example but warned that you probably shouldn't actually do that. Technically, writing styles aren't copyrighted and referring to a person as a reference (without using any of their content) is not illegal, but it is sketchy. Since many people are very upset about AI everything right now, I may delete this video and start over... it is important to be safe and set a good example, as some people could use AI poorly. That said, it can't really clone someone's actual writing at all - without being given a big blog of text. But it probably will be able to do better soon. Side note, I've been called a soulless demon and worse recently for discussing AI at all, but creatives really need to understand what's out there and what it means for them.
I'm building some simple tools around it so you can check it out, though building GPT3 tools is a much bigger investment than I'd planned, and I feel like soon it'll be so much easier, with wordpress plugins etc. Since microsoft just partnered with openAI/chatgpt for about 10billion dollars, we'll probably see AI tools in bing and ms word soon, so even if you don't like the tech, it's going to be hard to avoid using.
The first writing prompts tool I made is here: https://www.promptoria.com
It's just for fun but when you can "write this story" with gpt3 and also actually edit the generative prompts to write anything, it should be pretty useful.

Hey there - I'm Derek Murphy. I'm a fine artist who became a book cover designer, then started writing young adult scifi and fantasy. I've spent almost 20 years living abroad, have a PhD in comparative literature (revolutionary politics in Paradise Lost), and have been featured in CNN for renting castles to use as writing retreats. Although I'm not working with clients anymore, I've built a ton of resources to help indie authors write, design and publish bestselling books.
On this channel, I talk about writing, publishing and creating personal freedom with unconventional business strategies and providing value. My videos are unpolished and a little raw, because we travel full-time and I focus on content, not production quality.
