Hailing from Redlands, CA, Marlon Funaki has made a name for himself with his genre-blending sound that combines the grit of alternative rock with psychedelic tones and jazz-influenced guitar. Funaki’s Japanese and Mexican American heritage gives him a unique perspective and plays a meaningful role in his expansive and deeply personal songwriting. When performing on Audiotree Live backed by his band, Funaki’s raw and soulful edge pulled us in with an electric calm and left the studio buzzing with energy.
