this is part I of a possible three part series on bat sound recording

this summer I have fallen into a deep rabbit hole of recording bat echolocations, social calls and learning more about these fascinating creatures. since most of the tutorials on bioacoustics naturally focus more on monitoring and studying wildlife, I figured it be interesting to focus a bit more on gathering sounds for artistic use and further sound design.

this part focuses on the equipment that I use to capture bat sounds, while the forthcoming parts will focus on the recording and processing side.
