🥕Carrot Soap Making | DIY Natural Cold Process Homemade Soap Recipe

Описание к видео 🥕Carrot Soap Making | DIY Natural Cold Process Homemade Soap Recipe

🥕In this video, I'll show you how to make homemade carrot soap using carrot-infused oil. Unlike other methods that use pureed carrots, I dry and grind the carrots into powder and infuse them in olive oil to extract the carrot essence, resulting in a beautiful orange-colored oil. This oil gives the soap a natural golden-yellow hue that doesn't fade over time.

I also use sodium citrate, a salt derived from citric acid. Sodium citrate acts as a chelating agent, meaning it binds with metal ions in water, which helps prevent soap scum from forming. By using sodium citrate, I can ensure that the soap performs well in both soft and hard water.

I'm Huy! My passion for soap making began 9 years ago after a saponification experiment at university where I studied Chemical Engineering. To me, soap isn't just a product for washing; it's a fascinating exploration of chemistry-components, chemical reactions, molecular structures, and production technologies. Through each video, I hope to share my love for this craft and inspire you to discover the joy of soap making yourself.

RECIPE:

Oils and Butters (Total weight based on formula):

🫘 5% castor oil (25 g)
🥥 20% coconut oil (100 g)
🫒35% carrot-infused olive oil (175 g)
🧈40% cocoa butter (200 g)

Superfat: 5 %

Lye Solution (36.5% concentration):

⚗️ 69 g NaOH (sodium hydroxide)
🥕100 g carrot juice

🧂10 g sodium citrate (2% of total oil weight) diluted with 20 g water (water=x2 sodium citrate)

💧Total liquid: 120 g

Note: During the curing process, white crystalline spots may appear on the surface of the soap due to the sodium citrate in the recipe. This is normal, non-harmful, and can be easily rinsed off.
