This Icelandic Film is Unlike Anything Else - The post-Christian Meaning of Godland

Описание к видео This Icelandic Film is Unlike Anything Else - The post-Christian Meaning of Godland

Today we explore an incredible Icelandic and Danish film production titled Godland.
In Danish the title is Vanskabte Land and in Icelandic the title is Volaða Land.

This film was released relatively recently and it has so many dimensions to it that I thought it more than warranted a full analysis of the themes and characters and creative elements. It has a strong aesthetic vision and incredible acting and directing but ultimately left me filling torn at the end.

In this analysis we explore the film's story, the historic setting in 19th century Iceland, the remarkable artistic choices, and the complex Christian and post-Christian philosophy underlying the themes and characters in the film.

What did you think of the film and the ideas and feelings it evoked?
