Описание к видео Menopause and Midlife Women's Health

The Women’s Congressional Policy Institute (WCPI) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan public policy organization whose mission is to bring together a community of bipartisan women policymakers and trusted partners to advance issues of importance to women, develop the next generation of women leaders, and foster a more effective and representative democracy.

On July 23, 2024, in conjunction with the Bipartisan Women Caucus, WCPI hosted a briefing, “Menopause and Midlife Women’s Health.” During the briefing, we heard from a wide range of speakers who presented bipartisan policy and on-the-ground recommendations for expanding public education and medical research on menopause and midlife women's health. The panel also discussed how menopause affects women in the workforce, and how employers can improve workplace accommodations and destigmatize the topic.

Our distinguished speakers included:

Genevieve Neal-Perry, MD, PhD, Robert A. Ross Distinguished Professor and Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of North Carolina School of Medicine

Karen Giblin, Founder and President, Red Hot Mamas Menopause Management Education Programs

Janine Austin Clayton, MD, FARVO, Associate Director for Research on Women's Health, Director of the Office of Research on Women's Health, National Institutes of Health

Christie Bloomquist, Vice President, Government Affairs and Policy, Astellas, moderated the discussion.
