Context:

This takes place after Dazai left the Port Mafia. Chuuya was struggling to fight some tough opponents, so Akutagawa jumped in to help Chuuya. He was a lot of help, but at the end, he got hurt by the opponent, and Chuuya intervened to help Aku, getting hurt himself[The scar on his eye]. If Chuuya hadn't intervened, Akutagawa would've been seriously hurt or even died.

This argument is after the fight, where Chuuya yells at him to not get himself involved into serious fights, and let Chuuya handle it alone.
