Like a lot of my videos, in this one I start by showing you the mistake I made - in this case purchasing the wrong motor on Espares - but then discovering that I could by a genuine Neumatic motor replacement for the same price as the cheap compatible motors that are available on-line. But at least by making this mistake I've hopefully prevented you from doing the same thing!

Having bought the wrong motor, I did what I should have done right at the start, and phoned the technical helpline at Neumatic. Initially I did this to have a bit of a moan at them that the new motors cost almost as much as a new Henry vacuum, and also to ask them why Henrys are so much less powerful than they used to be.

The technical guys put me right on both fronts. They pointed out there are resellers eg on ebay who buy the motors in bulk and therefore are able to offer more competitive prices in my case (£39.99 including postage rather than the advertised £106.06 on the official Neumatic website), and also pointed out that the newly redesigned Henry vacuums are able to deliver almost the same suction capacity as the old vacuums even though the wattage consumption is almost half what it used to be.

In Today's Toolkit:
- Electric Screwdriver (not essential but makes it a bit easier!), with extended PZ2 screw bit
- here's a link to the motor I needed for my Henry HVR200 vacuum https://goo.gl/Pbckif but check which motor YOU need for YOUR vacuum, as my vacuum is ancient, and it may not be the right one!
- here's the company I bought the motor from ebay seller AID Cleaning Store2010 https://goo.gl/njvvhF
- dust sheet
- newspaper
- methylated spirit - not essential, but it's useful, to clean some of the connections
