Here we conclude our discussion of work where we apply the concept to pumping a fluid out of a tank

Remember...think of "slicing" the fluid into differential volumes (a disc for example) and then of finding the work to remove that one element. The force in this context is the weight of the disk and the distance is how far the disc has to travel. The weight of the element breaks down as follows:

1. (mass density of fluid) (acceleration due to gravity) (volume of the disc)
2. This quantity is the "force".
3. Multiply the force times the distance the disc travels to get the work to remove the differential element.
