La casa nella prateria (Little House on the Prairie è una serie televisiva statunitense prodotta tra il 1974 e 1983, in 204 episodi oltre a sei lungometraggi per la tv. È ispirata alla serie di romanzi dal titolo originale Little House (La piccola casa nella prateria), opera del 1943-1945 della scrittrice statunitense Laura Ingalls Wilder e portata in TV dal produttore della NBC Ed Friendly e dall'attore, co-regista e produttore esecutivo Michael Landon.

La serie narra le difficoltose vicissitudini di una tradizionale famiglia americana che vive in una sperduta fattoria, vicino a un paesino del Minnesota, nel periodo 1870-1890. Divisa in 9 stagioni, a cui si aggiungono 4 film pilota, un film speciale con spezzoni della serie e nuove scene, e tre film finali, i vari episodi toccano molti temi importanti e sempre attuali quali, ad esempio, l'adozione, l'alcolismo, il razzismo, le droghe, l'obesità, ect.

Little House on the Prairie [1] is an American television series produced between 1974 and 1983, in 204 episodes as well as six feature films for TV. It is inspired by the novel series entitled Little House, a 1943-1945 work by American writer Laura Ingalls Wilder and brought to TV by NBC producer Ed Friendly and actor, co-director and producer executive Michael Landon.

The series tells the difficult vicissitudes of a traditional American family living on a remote farm, near a small town in Minnesota, in the period 1870-1890. Divided into 9 seasons, to which are added 4 pilot films, a special film with clips from the series and new scenes, and three final films, the various episodes touch on many important and ever-current themes such as, for example, adoption, alcoholism, racism, drugs, obesity, etc.
